During the Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced key initiatives, following which the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) established the AVGC Promotion Task Force. This task force is responsible for recommending strategic measures to strengthen the industry.

The animation industry alone is projected to reach ₹180 billion, while the online gaming industry is expected to grow from ₹65 billion in 2019 to ₹187 billion by 2022, with a CAGR of 43%. According to Statista, the animation and VFX industry is expected to grow from ₹83 billion in 2021 to ₹180 billion by 2024, reflecting an impressive growth rate of approximately 29%.
The rise in children’s viewership, affordable internet access, and the growing popularity of OTT platforms have further boosted demand in this sector.
